Effective May 1, 2025, the licencing and regulating of the Short-Term Accommodation By-Law will take effect in the City of Burlington. All new and existing short-term accommodations within the City are required to submit an application form to operate.

For a rental unit or property, a signed letter of authorization from the property owner(s), granting permission for the unit to be used as a Short-Term Accommodation (STA), and the lease/rental agreement must be provided at the time of application.
For a condominium, a signed letter of authorization from the Condominium Board, granting permission for the unit to be used as a Short-Term Accommodation (STA), must be provided at the time of application. For a rental or lease of the condominium, both a signed letter from the title owner(s) and a signed letter from the Condominium Board must be provided at the time of application.
If your property is located within the Niagara Escarpment Commission area, please consult the Niagara Escarpment Commission’s website or refer to the following Niagara Escarpment Plan Area of Development Control information document before applying. Note that while the Commission may post different information, all applicants must still comply with the City of Burlington's Short-Term Accommodation By-law.

Personal information in this form is collected under the authority of the City of Burlington's Business Licensing By-Law 42-2008, as amended, and will be used to process applications for a licence or for renewal of a licence to operate a short-term accommodation.
